Community Snapshots

I'm sort of a shutterbug and for better or for worse I've ended up taking a majority of the pictures on the  StCharlesMD.com website. From time to time I feel compelled to take time out of my day (especially when the weathers good!) and go on a photo safari in St. Charles.  There are many, many natural areas throughout the community that are just absolutely beautiful and in most cases just a stones throw away if you live or work here.  Over the years I've amassed a collection of these photographs and I've decided to setup this section on StCharlesMD.com to show them off! I will not only include photos of just the natural features of St. Charles but also many of the beautiful man-made features of our community. Unless otherwise noted all photography was taken by myself, an employee of ACPT, and ACPT holds the copyright of all photography published here.

I'm sure I'm not the only one in St. Charles with a camera.  If you've taken a particularly nice photograph within St. Charles and would like it published within these pages just email me a scan of it (75 dpi is fine), and at ACPT's discretion, I'll include it in Community Snapshots. If you don't have access to a  scanner, mail the photo to the address at the bottom of this page along with a self addressed stamped envelope so we can return it.  Please include the location within St. Charles, your name for the picture credit, and if you live in St. Charles -- your community.

Lancaster Lake
I've lived and worked in the St. Charles area for many years and I have never visited Lancaster Lake until just the other day. I'm sorry it took me so long.  Lancaster Lake is truly a hidden jewel of St. Charles, or for that matter, Southern Maryland.  Check the pictures out, or better yet, go see for yourself.

Hampshire Lake
These are part of a series of pictures taken of Hampshire Lake that I have always admired. These were professionally taken during one winter in the late 80's and are the work of photographer Steve Uzzell who has had worked published in National Geographic.
